John 10-11

I really liked the very beggining of John chapter 10. Jesus shares a parable to his disciples and the people about the shepherd and his sheep. The first two verses are my favorite, " Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of theasheep."
What i was able to get out of these verses was how to determine somethin is from good. To us this might be simple because we are in the right church and we know that it is true. But we can also use this parable for smaller things in our lives. Such as when we are faced with trials. This is a good way to know if it is a trial from god or if it is a temptaion from the adversary. I like how Jesus goes on further to explain the parable and state that he is the door and through him only the good stuff will enter. If we are obedient then we will be able to discern right from wrong. One thing that I can learn and use this week from this parable is to fine tune my hearing skills to listen to what Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want me to do.
