Matthew 5-7

As I read chapters 5-7 I was able to gain a new understanding how Jesus Christ wants us to live our lives. Before his time the law of Moses was followed. The law of Moses is very physical and black and white. Jesus Christ in these chapters wants to go away with the law of Moses and instill a more spiritual uplifting law. However he does not want to abolish it and i really like how he says in chapter 5 verse 17, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." This is the reason why he is here to make changes for people to be worthy to return to Heavenly Fathers plan. The doctrine that is important in these chapters is the renovation of the commandments we must follow. Like my previous post from last class i think that a great principle is obedience. The disciples of Christ must also follow these commandments to demonstrate they are good examples. Then people will be able to follow in the path of righteousness.
